"We have decided to publish, through reports, all the information that will reach us from the team of experts that is conducting the civil investigation on the phones of our activists, on which military espionage activity summarised in the name 'Paragon case' has been detected. 

The Italian government has opposed state secrecy to the legitimate questions that Parliament in the first place, but also all of us and public opinion, are asking to know who authorised such an activity that is detrimental to constitutional rights and freedoms, and in violation of international conventions, spying on journalists, activists, refugees, and above all on what grounds. 

We oppose state secrets, sharing and transparency. As with the Almasri case, which showed what the nature of relations with Libya are and what the cost of innocent people's lives is, the truth will win out over omerta and lies. It is only the beginning".
